8th Night of Hanukkah

Yeah! The last night of Hanukkah is here! Auntie Suzy came over for dinner tonight and to spend time with Matty and Lexi. It was nice to have someone try and distract them from me while I was making dinner. After dinner we lit the menorah for the last time this year and opened our presents. Matty and Lexi love presents and get super excited for them. Tonight they opened some fingerpaint and a paint tablet. We all sat down for a night of fingerpainting fun. After we were done...Matty and Lexi chased each other around the house and burned off some energy. We thought we would get a nice amount of sleep from Matty, but unfortunately at 3 am he was up screaming for Mommy and he ended up spending the rest of the morning in our room- at least he slept a little more!

7th night of Hanukkah

We went to visit Matty and Lexi's Great-Grandparents after naptime. Lexi and Matty love their Nana and Papa so much! They loved all of the new things in their house and wanted to look at all the pictures. Every picture they had to stop and name off the people in them. It was super cute!

We went home to have dinner, light the menorah and open another night of gifts!

Matty and Lexi played with their new crayola wonder paint pens. I love this stuff- they have as much fun and NO clean-up- makes for an easy project so that we are not always making messes. I still love getting messy with them, but not all day, every day!

7th DAY of Hanukkah

We wanted to spend the day out of the house, but it was a little chilly so we decided to go to Chuck E Cheese. Matty and Lexi were not as into the little rides as they once had been. I think they are thrill seekers and prefer amusement park rides more! They attempted to play some games and had a fun time! It was really empty, which was nice so I was not worried about them running around and giving them a little of mommy-free space! After we left we ended up running a few errands and having a picinic lunch in the house.

6th night of Hanukkah!

For tonight's present Matty and Lexi got to decorate cookies that we baked. They had fun decorating them and while Lexi liked the frosting best, Matty preferred the m&m minis. It has been super cold here for Las Vegas. We went to the park today after breakfast but at 35 degrees we ended up leaving after about an hour. It has been a fun weekend so far because daddy has been home to have fun too!

5th night of Hanukkah

Matty and Lexi were exhausted today so we did an easy dinner and got ready for Hanukkah night. Both kids were up by 5am this morning and then had a big day. When they got up they were still groggy. Mommy was upstairs painting a wall with chalkboard paint, but as the crying and screaming for mommy continued she quickly hurried downstairs. They finally calmed down... we put on a Mickey Christmas movie and they were happy to see it and cuddle with mommy and daddy!

Tonight Matty lit the menorah and said the prayers.

It was a night of Play-dough for presents and then we all played it was fun!

Christmas Morning!

Santa came and brought Matty and Lexi some great toys! They had fun looking at the presents and we even left out some carrots for the Reindeer. It is amazing that Santa knew to bring them Donald Duck and Elmo things...

4th night of Hanukkah

Yes I know the candles went the wrong way...I don't know what I was thinking, it must be the kindergarten teacher in me trying to get the kids to read properly...whoops, at least Matty and Lexi are not old enough to correct me!
Tonight was the fourth night of Hanukkah! Matty and Lexi now have the hang of things and are totally excited when I say that it is time to light the menorah and open presents. Tonight Lexi helped mommy light the menorah! They opened their presents and loved their Donald Duck dolls and coloring/marker fun!

They love Donald Duck!

Mommy, open your eyes...this could have been a cute picture!

Snow in Vegas

Well it was quite extraordinary that it snowed in Las Vegas on Monday. It also stuck to the ground. It began and last night and they even canceled school today. (LAS VEGAS SNOW DAY) Unfortunately it is super sunny and it was a waste of a day.

Matty and Lexi did not like the snow. They liked the snowman, and they always say build snowman when they see snow, but were not amused by the cold. I guess they are just warm-blooded vegas toddlers.
